Pashupatinath Temple;

Pashupatinath Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located on the banks of the Bagmati River. The temple is built in a two-tiered, pagoda-style architecture that has been widely recognized by Hindus as a major pilgrimage site. The main temple is closed to non-Hindus. However, visitors can observe the temple, the cremation ghats, and the daily rituals on the eastern bank of the river. This offers a powerful spiritual experience.

Boudhanath Stupa;

Boudhanath stupa dates back to the 5th Century. It is the largest and oldest Buddhist stupa in Nepal. The iconic eyes of Lord Buddha are atop the massive dome, which symbolizes awareness and wisdom. Around the stupa are monasteries, prayer wheels, and Buddhist devotees. They perform kora, or circumambulation, while chanting and spinning wheels.

Patan Durbar Square;

It is located in the heart of Lalitpur. It is a masterpiece of Newari architecture. The majority of the temples, palaces, and courtyards were constructed during the Malla era, displaying the artistic excellence that was prevalent at the time. These include many museums that contain relics and sculptures from times gone by.

Swayambhunath Stupa/ Monkey Temple;

This temple is situated at the top of a hill and overlooks the Kathmandu Valley. The site provides one with stunning scenery of the whole city. Another name used to refer to this temple is Monkey Temple because of the many monkeys found there. • Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit: This is a mandatory conservation fee for the UNESCO site. It is obtained at the Department of Nepal Tourism board in Kathmandu or at the park entrance. Cost: Approx. 3,000 NPR (approx. $23) for foreigners; 1,500 NPR for SAARC nationals.

Frequently Asked Questions

How difficult is this tour for someone with no trekking experience?

The entire tour is tailored to make you as comfortable as possible. No hiking or treks are required for this particular tour, other than getting into the helicopter and walking short distances on uneven snow at Kala Patthar.

Is there a risk of Altitude Sickness (AMS) during such a fast ascent?

There is a minimal possibility of contracting AMS since you will only spend 15 to 20 minutes at the high altitude level at Kala Patthar and one hour having breakfast. It may be difficult for you to breathe, but it will disappear once you descend.

What happens if the weather is bad on the morning of the flight?

Our primary concern at all times is safety. In case visibility is not good or wind speeds are high, the flight may be put off to another day. A majority of air operators always have a complete refund or next-day flight when the weather improves.

How many people can fit in one helicopter?

A standard Airbus H125 helicopter can carry up to 5 passengers (max 500kg total). However, due to the thin air at high altitudes (above 4,400m), we often perform a "shuttle" where only 2–3 passengers are flown to Kala Patthar at a time to ensure safety.

Is a landing at Everest Base Camp (EBC) guaranteed?

We land at Kala Patthar (5,450m) rather than the actual Base Camp because Kala Patthar offers the most iconic, panoramic view of Mt. Everest. The view from the actual Base Camp is often blocked by the West Ridge.

Is this tour suitable for children and senior citizens?

Yes, it is quite a popular trip among families and elders wishing to view Mount Everest without undergoing the rigorous challenge of an 11-day hike. Unless there are any significant pre-existing respiratory or cardiac disorders, the tour is entirely safe for you.

When is the best time of year for the Helicopter Tour?

Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are considered to be the most desirable seasons. In these periods, the sky remains clear enough to offer breathtaking photos of the entire Himalayan range.

Will I be able to see the Khumbu Icefall?

Of course. Your flight route will take you right above the Khumbu Icefall, allowing you to see the icefall formation that the climbers have to cross before reaching the top.

Can I bring my own oxygen canister?

While our helicopters are equipped with emergency oxygen systems, you are welcome to bring a small portable canister if it makes you feel more comfortable. Most guests find they don't need it for the short duration of the stops.

Do I need to bring a lot of cash?

It would be better if you take some Nepalese rupee (NPR) to give tips or buy any additional snacks or souvenirs at either Lukla or the Everest View Hotel. It should be noted that most places at high altitudes don’t accept credit cards.
