This 12-day journey begins in Kathmandu before flying to Biratnagar. From there, the route moves through Bhojpur or Diktel to Chakhewa, where the trek starts. The trail gradually ascends through forests and villages to high ridgelines around Salpa Bhanjyang and Silichung, before retracing the route back to Kathmandu.

Mundum Trail takes you on a journey that is unique to Nepal. It follows the ancient Kirati spiritual route, connecting the middle hills of eastern Nepal to high mountain ridges. The trail is pristine and less commercialized. This allows trekkers a chance to experience both culture and nature at their best. The journey begins after a scenic flight from Kathmandu. Next, you will drive to Bhojpur/Diktel. The journey then continues onwards to Chakhewa. It is here that the trekking adventure begins. The trail slowly climbs through dense forest filled with rhododendrons. oaks and bamboo, heading towards Dhotre.
As the terrain opens, you will see wide ridgelines. The route toward Rawadhap offers stunning views of the Himalayan mountain ranges in the east, as well as a sense that you are alone. These highland zones are deeply connected with Kirati traditions and spiritual beliefs.
Silichung Peak excursion is a highlight of the Mundum Trail. This sacred viewpoint offers panoramic views that include endless hills and distant Himalayan summits. As the rising sun illuminates the surrounding landscapes, an early morning trek to Silichung can be both serene and powerful. Traversing the same path back through Chakhewa provides a chance to view these serene villages and woods from a unique vantage point.
The journey concludes with the drive to Dhankuta, followed by a plane back to Kathmandu. Mundum Trail offers a unique experience for tourists seeking spirituality, seclusion, and cultural linkages in the Himalayan region.
